De Bono Thinking Hats

Hello blogging world. This week we were asked to create a Debono thinking Hats about the gala day to see this look at my previous post. We had to make a white hat, a yellow hat, a red hat, a black hat, a green hat and a blue hat. I think it was harder for some than it was for others because some people didn't come to the gala day. This is what I made.

Poems

Hello blogging world, Saskia here. This week we made some poems. We were not allowed to repeat the same word twice unless it was something simple like "I" or "and". It was especially hard because I couldn't think at first and we had write at least six lines. This is mine.

I sat out there in the wet,
and wished I'd never got on that jet.

Indeed that jet looked cold and cruel,
I felt like throwing up last night's gruel

I swam far away in the tide,
until a shark nearly bit off my hide.

Now I'm happy I'm alive
but I'll never go back to that place where the shark resides.

CAMP!!!

Last week we went to camp. It was amazing and fun. after the trip I am happy! I didn’t think it would be this fun until I went. Every day I was happier then the last, I loved the night walk, I didn’t think stars could be so bright! I especially loved being on the top of the mountain, and climbing on the top of a roof (where I shouldn’t have been, but it was great for sight seeing) On the way to Mt Ruapehu we had stops, they were Taumaranui, Otorohanga and Hamilton Gardens. On the way back we went to Taupo Aquatic Centre, Huka Falls and Cambridge. Also we skied. Here are some photos for all of them

My favourite part of it was skiing. The best part of skiing was when I was one of twelve allowed to go up to Rock Garden and bet my mum in a race because she crashed at the last second and let me through. What challenged me was moving up to Rock Garden with all the cliffs and heavy slopes

Taekwondo

In class for the last four weeks on Thursdays day we have been going to taekwondo and learning how to punch and  kick. We are not allowed to use it out of the classroom and if we do we miss the whole next lesson of taekwondo and we have to sit and watch everyone else. Yesterday we learnt how to kick and had a competition about who could kick the highest. Caitlin won at round 11 (each round puts the target a little bit higher and a little bit harder to reach). Here are some photos.
this is me, kicking the pad and missing, on the first try

this is the whole class, kicking for practice

pick a path

Beware!!! this is a sad story and has no happy endings!!!! If you don't think you can take it, DO NOT READ IT!!! IT'S  BAD IDEA ALTOGETHER !!!

This is a pick-a-path story about when your cat was killed by your best friend. It is simple to use. All you have to do is click on the link that you want to go to and you will be taken to the appropriate slide for you. This was fun to make because we could pick any theme we wanted and go freestyle with it. It was also kind of hard because we kept on linking the wrong things to the wrong places and getting frustrated with it.

Math

This is what we started with -  toothpicks, a ball of Plasticine and a sheet of white paper.

This is it after I got desperate and rebuilt it in a new easier shape.

this is my creation after it fell apart.

I think it was hard and frustrating because it kept on falling apart because it was very delicate and I had to be very gentle and careful with it. Also we did not have many ideas at the start. At first I thought about making a shape like a long stretched out dome tent (google it). Then, with that failing, I rebuilt it in a long tall pentagon shape ( I am too tall to fit in most tents, which is why I always need tall one) but it was todelicate to work with  so I, in  a rush because we needed something at the end of the lesson and all I had was a pile of sticks and Plasticine, I made a new one as fast as I could, this is the second photo you see on this post and was easy, strong and fast to make. I think it was fun because there wasn't much to remember and we could go freestyle. My overall refection is that is was very hard to make because it was too delicate .

P.S. Sorry about the lack of pictures, I didn't think about them until it was too late.
